Still better than a suggestion from Tamedia in 2013, when our beloved "Downtown Switzerland" faced a first-world problem with "too few digits on the plate" and they suggested making a rose stripe on the left with swiss-cross and CH, then "CH - " followed by 8 digits without the canton's flag. 1636 points 1 comments - French car, British sticker, Swiss number plate, in Germany. This means the design is just a proposal, nothing definitive (thanks god - the suggestion is UGLY!).īut if the final design would both fix the "missing CH-text" on the plate, AND honor the "Kantönligeist" (well I like my Canton's flag on the numberplate!), and the new design being implemented with "each new number" (new number = new design, old one remain valid until the owner wants to change, or hands them back) - why not? I'd like to mention the initiative is a general suggestion it asks the gov (either the chambers, OR the dept) to finally start acting on this issue. ![]()
